Apparently this function does not return the database name given in the connection string. I tried this on apache 2.x/php4.3.x/pg7.4.x and apache 1.3.x/php5.x/pg8rc1 and saw this behavior on both setups.

pg_options() は、指定した
PostgreSQL connection リソースの
オプションを保持する文字列を返します。
パラメータ

connection -
PostgreSQL データベース接続リソース。
connectionが指定されていない場合はデフォルトの接続が使用されます。 デフォルトの接続は、直近の pg_connect() あるいは pg_pconnect() によって作成されたものです。
返り値
connection のオプションを文字列で返します。
エラー時には false を返します。
